Dustin was the scene-stealer of Season 1, and he becomes a more fully-fledged and fleshed-out character in Season 2. That definitely works, because the character is just so fun to spend time with, and thanks to Gaten Matarazzo's awkward charm and perfect comic timing is the one you come to care for above all the others. He's hilarious, brave, and full of heart.

Sure, he may adopt a pet that turns out to be a cat-eating monster from another realm, but no one can resist those pearly whites.
