Stranger Things Season 2: What The Ending Really Means
2. The Other Loose End
Though the season ended with more finality than the first one, there were still some things left unresolved - or at least left with enough wiggle room to turn into storylines in season 3.
For instance, Brett Gelman's private investigator Murray Bauman knows way too much to just be left alone. He's a conspiracy theorist and they're not exactly renowned for keeping schtum, and he used to be a journalist. What if he decides to write a book? What if the government learn what he knows? He's a potential target and a volatile one at that.
Then there's Billy - the archetypal Stephen King-type bully who was overcome at the end of the season by his sister, but who is way too macho and way too dangerous to simply shrug it off and start being a nice guy. He will be sore and he should be seeking an opportunity to get revenge on the kids who showed him up. Hopefulyl, we'll get to see more of him as a secondary antagonist next season (particularly if we get to see more of him seducing Mike's mom).
And of course, now that Bob is out of the way, we can all start shipping Joyce and Hopper again - there's definitely something there.
