Stranger Things Season 3: 8 Biggest Questions After The Trailer

6. What's Wrong With Will?

"What's wrong with Will?" is a question that fans have been asking since Stranger Things debuted, as the beloved Will Byers has consistently found himself at the heart of the Upside Down-related madness. This time, however, they aren't necessarily asking it in regards to his relationship with the supernatural, they're just genuinely concerned about his emotional state.

Mike's poignant voiceover about how he and the gang are no longer kids is reflected in the footage as we see an emotional (and unusually wet) Will staring at two photographs of the boys from a time when they were still kids. He then picks up the photo of him, Mike, Dustin and Lucas all dressed up as Ghostbusters from last season and tears up even more, as though he's heartbroken that they will no longer share experiences like this.

So the question is: is Will a little extra emotional about growing up because so much of his innocent childhood was taken from him by the Demogorgon? Perhaps, unlike Mike, he's not quite ready to accept that he's maturing into a teenager and wants to hold on a little longer, or perhaps there is something else going on entirely.

Before the trailer comes to an end, we see one final shot of Will standing in a rainstorm looking rather intense. Could his feelings of isolation have reawakened his relationship with the Upside Down, or are they exactly what he needed to become 'Will The Wise' and overcome the supernatural threats once and for all?
