Stranger Things Season 3 Trailer Reactions: 8 Ups & 2 Downs
2. The CGI Looks MUCH Better
One of the most consistent complaints about the previous two seasons has been the rather disappointing quality of the visual effects.
Compared to the general sharpness of the cinematography and overall production design, the CGI has always felt a bit cheap and chintzy, as though Netflix didn't stump up enough cash to make it look convincing.
Thankfully this trailer makes a compelling argument that the streaming giant has allocated more resources to the VFX department, with the glimpse of a grotesque monster from the Upside Down looking decidedly more impressive than ever before.
It's probably still reasonable not to expect movie-calibre CGI throughout the show, but it does seem that a greater effort has been made to bring the effects in line with the overall sleekness of the production.
