More than 20 months will have passed since the last episode when Season 3 finally releases, and as we all know, its young cast are at the age where their appearances will change dramatically in a short space of time.

This is evident almost immediately during the trailer, with the kids all looking a little ganglier and more awkward, albeit in a way which should support the show's depiction of growing up exceptionally well.

Their voices are deeper - as is surely ripe for a few easy jokes - and they're changing fast, hopefully allowing Season 3 to serve as an affecting farewell to childhood and fostering in of young adulthood.

Naturally, the fourth season, which likely won't be shot for at least a year, won't be able to dine out on quite the same mood, so expect Season 3 to establish a tonal maturation ahead of what the Duffers have said will likely be the final season (if you believe that).
