Supergirl: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best
7. J'onn J'onzz
The Martian Manhunter is undoubtedly one of DC Comics' most iconic superheroes, so when we heard that he would show up on Supergirl, it goes without saying that our expectations were high. However, when fans discovered that he had been hiding in plain sight (in the form of D.E.O. Director Hank Henshaw), they found themselves in complete awe.
Like his comic book counterpart, there are a ton of layers to J'onn's character on the show - all of which have made for great story elements over the years. There's his role D.E.O. Director, which allowed him to provide guidance to his fellow heroes for over three years. Then you have his most famous role - the heroic one which allows him to don his true look as he flies through the skies of National City to protect anyone in need.
That being said, his most interesting role is as the last son of Mars, as it continuously allows the character to get some well-earned screen-time and focus, giving us more and more of an insight into his Martian heritage and how it ultimately shaped who he is today.
A gem that simply isn't given enough attention, David Harewood's offering as J'onn is among the all-time best interpretations of the character.
