Supergirl: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best
8. Lex Luthor
Slick, suave and overflowing with charisma, Lex Luthor wasted no time in ensuring that his highly-anticipated debut on Supergirl was worth the four-year wait.
In spite of only being in three episodes, Jon Cryer put every ounce he could muster into making the character as conniving, manipulative and odious as his comic book counterpart in a bid to show us that he had more to give to the Superman franchise than Superman IV: The Quest For Peace - and he absolutely nailed it.
There were times when Lex was charming and oddly sweet as he appealed to those that he knew he could manipulate, and then there were times when the real Lex shone through, terrorising those around him in order to remind them just who was pulling the strings. The ultimate mastermind, he was the real Big Bad of Season 4 and, in being so, was the undoubtedly the strongest villain in Supergirl history. Not a bad achievement for a three-episode stint.
Without a doubt, the Lex Luthor that we all deserved.
