Supergirl Season 1: 10 Big Questions Following 'Pilot'

1. Can It Get Better?

Whilst many were expecting Supergirl to possibly be a bit of a stinker (me included), I€™d say that the majority of viewers will have been massively impressed by the pilot episode. The tone, action, humour and chemistry of the show worked fantastically well in this debut episode, and that hopefully bodes well for the rest of the season. The big question, though, is whether it can maintain that standard and even dare to top it. The CW€™s Arrow, itself a DC-based show, had a so-so first few months before going on to become must-see TV, and The Flash hit the ground running and has never looked back. As such, it€™ll be interesting to see where Supergirl goes from here and if it goes from strength-to-strength or whether it has a few wobbles here and there. It certainly appears that many of the chess pieces are in the right place to make this a strong show as it develops, but there's also plenty of potential minefields dotted along the way. Regardless, an impressive debut episode has certainly got expectations high for this new series going forward. So, what did you think of Supergirl's debut then, and what burning questions were you left with as we saw the launch of Kara Zor-El's days of heroism? Take to the comments to share your thoughts.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics. As a lifelong wrestling fan, horror obsessive, and comic book nerd, he's been covering those topics professionally as far back as 2010. In addition to his current WhatCulture role of Senior Content Producer, Andrew previously spent nearly a decade as Online Editor and Lead Writer for the world's longest-running genre publication, Starburst Magazine, and his work has also been featured on BBC, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, WhatToWatch, Sportkskeeda, and various other outlets, in addition to being a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic. Between his main dayjob, his role as the lead panel host of Wales Comic Con, and his gig as a pre-match host for Wrexham AFC games, Andrew has also carried out a hugely varied amount of interviews, from the likes of Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Adrienne Barbeau, Rob Zombie, Katharine Isabelle, Leigh Whannell, Bruce Campbell, and Tony Todd, to Kevin Smith, Ron Perlman, Elijah Wood, Giancarlo Esposito, Simon Pegg, Charlie Cox, the Russo Brothers, and Brian Blessed, to Kevin Conroy, Paul Dini, Tara Strong, Will Friedle, Burt Ward, Andrea Romano, Frank Miller, and Rob Liefeld, to Bret Hart, Sting, Mick Foley, Ricky Starks, Jamie Hayer, Britt Baker, Eric Bischoff, and William Regal, to Mickey Thomas, Joey Jones, Phil Parkinson, Brian Flynn, Denis Smith, Gary Bennett, Karl Connolly, and Bryan Robson - and that's just the tip of an ever-expanding iceberg.
