Supergirl Season 4: 4 Ups & 1 Down From 'Parasite Lost'

1. Using Your Platform For Good

Supergirl Lena James
The CW

Outraged at the thought of empathising with anti-alien supporters, even if they hailed him as a hero, James Olsen shot down everything that Ben Lockwood had to say. However, by the episode's conclusion, he realised just how many people looked up to Guardian and, as a result, began to consider the idea of saving his enemies by setting a good example.

After all, if these anti-alien supporters see their own hero, Guardian, speaking about the importance of protecting all life, including aliens, then they may start to see things differently. Though Lena initially thought it was a risky idea, she too realised that he was using this platform that he had been given in an attempt to turn things around for the better.

Much like Kara with her articles, James' escapades as Guardian have put him in a position where people will listen to what he has to say.

If there is anything we can take away from this week's episode, it is that platforms (volunatary or not) can be used to spread an important message, and it's up to James, Kara and everyone at CatCo to use the platforms they have been given to spread a message of love, acceptance and hope.

And now onto the negatives...
