Supergirl Season 4: 4 Ups & 1 Down From 'Suspicious Minds'

4. The Red Daughter Returns

Supergirl Evil Kara
The CW

When the Season 3 finale of Supergirl revealed the arrival of another Kara (thanks in no small part to the Harun-El used to defeat Reign) who turned up on the Siberian Border, it soon became clear that we would be getting a live-action adaptation of Superman: Red Son. However, since that moment, we have only seen this other Supergirl punch her way into a mine in the mountains of Kaznia, and fall victim to the Kryptonite-laced planet at the hands of Agent Liberty. Thankfully, that all changed in the midseason premiere, as the episode's opening scene allowed us to catch up with her.

Once again wearing that grey jumpsuit, this second Girl of Steel disposed of a missile, destroyed drones and obliterated a tank with complete ease. Of course, this was another training exercise - one that pleased the Russian soldiers who were watching her. However, the soldiers then discussed the possibility of controlling her before deducing that they would need to train her much harder.

The idea of a higher power attempting to control a Kryptonian warrior doesn't sound too far removed from what the actual Supergirl was dealing with in National City, but this does beg the question: What do the soldiers want her to do for them and, perhaps more importantly, will it lead to a showdown with the Girl of Steel?
