Supergirl Season 4: 4 Ups & 1 Down From 'The House Of L'

Down...

1. Lex's Vanishing Act

Supergirl Lex Luthor Red Daughter
The CW

Lex's trip to Kara Danvers' home was certainly a bold move. Not only did he risk alerting the Girl of Steel about her own doppelganger, he risked being recognised and revealing to the world that he wasn't actually in prison. But that's just an indication of how focused Lex Luthor is - the mission comes first and not even the risks are reason enough to back down.

When Alex showed up, Lex hid behind a dresser with a gun at the ready. Though Kara's lookalike solved the problem and sent the D.E.O. Director home, the prisoner decided that it was time to return to, well, prison. Sounds like a great plan, right? Well, it was, until he ordered his Red Daughter to fly herself off to Kaznia while he just used the door. Yes, the very same door that Alex had just left through.

So we're supposed to believe that, after all of this detailed planning, all of this chaperoning and all of this risk-taking, he's just going to casually turn around to her and be like "Bye LOL" and trust her to return to Kaznia while he just, well, walks off to prison (without his wig!)? Surely, a mastermind of his calibre would need to ensure that she would return home while also allowing himself to make a getaway without being seen? Wouldn't it have just made more sense to have her fly him to prison on her way to Kaznia?

Of course, this was merely a way to allow her to stick around without supervision in order to learn more about Kara. Unfortunately, it didn't gel with the genius that we now know Lex to be and, as a result, felt a little contrived.
