5. Colonel Haley Chooses A Side

Making an unannounced comeback, Lauren Haley returned to the D.E.O. this week to find Director Alex Danvers with apparent fugitive Supergirl. Though the U.S. Colonel was initially shocked, she quickly threw the rule book out the window and offered to help the Girl of Steel.

Haley has been an interesting character to watch grow all season because, when she arrived, she prided herself on being loyal to the leaders of her country. Now, she finds herself in a situation where those leaders are the enemies and in order to stop them, she has to abandon the approach she knows so well.

Though the significance of her actions in 'Red Dawn' was perhaps a little downplayed (considering how much effort had been put into her character development), it was still great to see her choose the right side and, in the process, help the two people that she inadvertently drove apart.
