Supergirl Season 4 Finale: 9 Ups & 2 Downs From 'The Quest For Peace'

Ups...

9. The Quest For Peace

Supergirl Season 4 Kara Alex
The CW

Before we get into the nitty-gritty, let’s take some time to appreciate the title of the season finale. For anyone unaware, ‘The Quest For Peace’ is a direct reference to 1987’s horrendous Superman IV: The Quest For Peace – a film in which Jon Cryer actually appeared (as Lenny Luthor) and one that has gone down in history as one of the worst movies ever made.

Supergirl may not be the most flawless series on TV, but it doesn’t take a 12th-level intellect to see that it’s in a completely different league than Superman IV. With that in mind, it was nice to see the finale redeem that film’s admittedly great title while also giving the excellent Cryer a chance to showcase what he was truly capable of.

On a completely separate note, ‘The Quest For Peace’ perfectly encapsulates the message of this season, summing up Kara’s mission beautifully.

Take note, real world.
