Supergirl Trailer: 25 Easter Eggs And References You Need To See

Which classic Superman villain will make his live-action debut in Supergirl?

The first trailer for Supergirl was revealed last night, and it was surprisingly epic. The brainchild of producers Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler and Andrew Kreisberg, Supergirl will focus on Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin who was sent to Earth from Krypton at the same time. After hiding her amazing powers for more than a decade, the show will pick up with Kara after she's forced to bust out her super moves in public during an unexpected disaster. Energized by her heroism for the first time in her life, she begins embracing her abilities in the name of helping the people of her city, earning herself a super moniker along the way. Rumour has it that Supergirl will be set in the same world as Arrow and The Flash, but how that will work when they're on different networks isn't clear. Stephen Amell may have shed some light on that recently though when he revealed that the characters all being owned by DC Comics means they are allowed to appear in each other's shows regardless of which channel they're on. A crossover is probably a very long way off as of right now though. Regardless of whether Supergirl exists in a shared universe or on her own though, there are a lot of reasons to be excited for Supergirl. The six minute trailer was far more impressive than many fans ever expected it to be, with top notch special effects and plenty of nods to the source material, both in terms of surprising character reveals and Easter Eggs. Here, you will find all of the biggest DC Comics references, Easter Eggs, and in-jokes. Whether it's a plethora of nods to the comic books and past live-action takes on Superman and Supergirl, a possible Man of Steel connection, or the reveal of a huge villain, this covers everything you could possibly want to know about the TV series which debuts in November.

Josh Wilding hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
