Supernatural: 10 Most Cringeworthy Moments

Supernatural was a show that happily dipped its toes into romance, despite the horror/action-centric focus. John & Mary, Sam & Jess and even Castiel & Meg are all shining examples of love done right. However, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows.

During season eight, Sam found himself conflicted after being reunited with Dean. It was revealed that during Dean's time in Purgatory, Sam had gotten into a relationship with a vet called Amelia after almost killing a dog - what a meet-cute. After that came to an end, he was struck with thoughts of quitting hunting while looking back on his time with her.

The core relationship between Sam & Amelia in season eight was perfectly fine, pleasant even. But did they have to make the flashbacks so cringeworthy? There's a goofy glossiness to it with smeared lenses, shiny filters and overly cheesy dialogue that almost feels like an intentional parody of romantic movies.

Plus, the chemistry between the pair often comes across as forced or uncomfortable, likely because of the strange creative choices. The idea of Sam getting a taste of a "normal life" seemed great on paper, but these flashback scenes led to some of the corniest and most cringeworthy moments in the show.
