Supernatural: 10 Perfect Episodes
6. Changing Channels
Another Trickster classic, Sam and Dean find themselves trapped in TV land. The Trickster explains that both the brothers must participate in the TV show's parodies, otherwise, they'll be trapped there for the rest of their lives. As Sam and Dean try to find their way out of the Trickster's mastery by playing along, they figure out the Trickster isn't who he says he is.
The episode's highlight is the opening credits, as we see Sam and Dean recreate an impeccable parody of cheesy sitcom TV openings. One could also argue another highlight is seeing Dean fangirl over Dr Sexy after trying to convince Sam that he is not a fan of the TV show, or Sam turning into Kitt from Knight Rider.
Changing Channels is undoubtedly one of the funniest and weirdest episodes Supernatural aired. The spoof of a hospital drama, a Japanese game show, a cop TV show, and an infomercial is both cringe-worthy and amusing to witness. In true Supernatural fashion, the fun was cut short as it was revealed the Trickster is the archangel Gabriel, who explained that everything had been a lesson to Sam and Dean as each brother must take on his "role" in the apocalypse.
