Supernatural Cast: Where Are They Now?

Ruth Connell portrays the immortal witch Rowena MacLeod, the mother of Crowley's original human form. Rowena, like most villains in Supernatural, has an on-again-off-again alliance with the Winchesters and ultimately becomes a series regular in the later seasons. Once a powerful witch, Rowena has lost much of her power by the time Supernatural takes place but is still very much a strong mage.

The character dies and resurrects several times throughout the series and has herself a rivalry with her former son, Crowley, as well as a revolving relationship with Lucifer as well. Like many of the characters in Supernatural, she begins as a cruel villain only to become a sympathetic anti-hero (presuming you can forgive the massive death toll she causes through the series).

As mentioned in the previous entry, Connell portrays Night Nurse in Doom Patrol and looks to be getting in on the Dead Boy Detectives spin off alongside Alexander Calvert.

Ruth has also replaced fellow Scottish actress Kelly MacDonald as the voice of Merida, portraying the Disney princess in Sofia the First and the Disney Infinity series of games. She is similarly poised to play another witch, portraying Lady Margaux in the upcoming Hexengeddon, a story about witches declaring war on humanity.
