Supernatural: The Best Episode From Every Season

Before Supernatural deaths lost all meaning and shock factor, Sam’s death in All Hell Breaks Loose, Pt 1 still remains as one of the most shocking deaths on the show, as that was the first time we witnessed one of the main characters die.

The two-part episode set up for one of the best season finales Supernatural has seen, but it is the second part that stuck out to us. Jensen Ackles shows off his acting chops in this episode with his heartbreaking monologue to Sam as he lays dead on the table in front of him. Dean ends up making another shocking decision by selling his soul in exchange for Sam’s life, but he only gets one year to live instead of ten before he gets dragged down to Hell.

This episode develops the lore and mythology of the show deeper as – as the title implies – Hell breaks loose with many demons and other souls escaping. Paired with an appearance of the boy's dad and an awesome slow-mo moment of Dean finally killing Azazel with the Colt, Season Two’s finale is defiantly one of the high points in the show overall.
