Dean has been mysteriously raised from his grave and out of Hell. After a warm reunion with Sam and Bobby, they must find out how he was revived. Plus, Sam isn't the same man he was four months ago. There is something different about him. The season premiere is jammed pack full of action and twists. It starts off with Dean scratching and clawing his way out of his grave. He finds Bobby and then Sam. Their reunion is the best moment in the show's history. It showcases how great their acting skills are. From there they must find out how Dean escaped Hell. After seeking a fortune teller, we are finally introduced to the man who raised Dean from Hell. The angel Castiel explodes onto the screen literally and figuratively. Sam and Bobby hit them with everything they have and he walks through all of their attacks. One of the coolest special effects in the show is from the picture above. Cas reveals his nature by showing his angel wings in the form of a shadow. He also reveals that God commanded Dean to be revived. But that is not the only revelation in this episode. Ruby is shown to be alive and well, and played by a different actress. We find out that she has been teaching Sam to harness his demon powers within. It was a crazy premiere to a crazy season.
