Taboo Season 2: Everything We Know
2. Stephen Knight Hints At A Third Season
In a 2017 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Stephen Knight was understandably enthusiastic for the return of Taboo:
"In my mind, explosive stuff is going to happen, which will be great, should it happen. There's a great destination for it, but I don't know if we're in a position to talk about the actual details of it."
That's to be expected, given that no one wants to give the game away so early in the day. He did, however, drop some fairly hefty hints at not only the literal direction Delaney was heading in but also the longevity of the project, when interviewed by Collider.
“If we all stick with it and we all want to keep doing it, it would be three [series]. That’s my plan. I’ve got a geographical sort of route for the thing to take... It’s basically a journey west. I have a destination in mind, which is always nice to have if you’re setting off on this big journey, which is what writing three eight-hours is. It’s good to know where you’re headed.”
One the subject of a third season, Knight told the Huffington Post:
“I can feel the three acts. The first was ‘the escape’. The second will be ‘the journey’ and the third will be ‘the arrival’, and that’ll be it. I don’t think the story will be what viewers are expecting, but hopefully they’ll enjoy it.”
Two, three, ten - whatever Steven, just hurry up, Hardy's not getting any younger.
