The Apprentice: 5 Reasons Why We Love It
The BBC's business-based reality TV show The Apprentice is back on our screens and two weeks in, it's been as good as it ever has been. We're into season 9 now of the long running show and once again 16 hopeful candidates have been going toe-to-toe for the privilege of becoming Sir Alan Sugar's business partner and the chance of scooping the cool £250,000 investment funding that comes with it. From a historian, a doctor and a cupcake maker, the group of plucky hopefuls have gradually been whittled down to 13 as week by week, Sir Alan inches his way toward finding his new partner in business while, along the way, crushing the hopes and dreams of the unlucky 15 who will be met by the sight of his protruding finger pointing in their face by the time all is said and done. From dingy cafe's and taxis home for the unlucky contestants through to outrageous personalities that border on narcissism and squabbling in the boardroom, The Apprentice has all the right ingredients a compelling TV series needs. Here, to celebrate the new series, What Culture rounds up 5 reasons why we love The Apprentice. Click "Next" to get started.
