The Arrowverse: 10 Most Hated Supporting Characters

While most other characters have their redeeming qualities and loyal fans. Supergirl's Mon El doesn't really.

Mon El falls into a similar category as Felicity Smoak, albeit with more egregious errors. Akin to Arrow's resident girl in the chair, animosity towards him began when he started to detract from what the show is really about. The former prince of Daxam took away focus about a superhero show focusing on two sisters in Kara and Alex. After Mon El crashes into the plot, so much screen time is devoted to a character that most viewers ultimately did not warm to.

Whilst he has his occasional funny moments - and the odd bit of development here and there - the truth of the matter is Mon El degrades and devalues women in every scene. He's an inherently selfish character whose romance with Kara was both forced and unnecessary, only making them be together so that he can learn to become a better person.

All of his hero's journey malarkey just distracts from Supergirl. Y'know, the main character. In order to make him look strong, they make her look weak.
