3. She Deserves Better

This is inarguable. Sheldon consistently neglects Amy, and it is time for her to meet a nicer guy. He could be another scientist, it could be Stuart from the Comic Book Shop, it could be a guy at a bar. Either way, she deserves someone who reciprocates her emotions. Again, this would open up numerous comedic opportunities; on occasion Sheldon has gotten jealous, and we could see this as part of the barrier within his recovery from such a heart shattering moment in his life. Throughout the show Amy has invested so much in their relationship, yet everything appears to be on Sheldon€™s terms. This negligent attitude could provide us with a plausible reason for the breakup, and if it were done on Amy€™s terms, we would see her as a strong female character, like Bernadette and Penny. Penny and Bernadette certainly wear the trousers in their relationships, and Amy has shown that she can perform this role (e.g. by forcing Sheldon to apologise). However, unlike Howard and Leonard, Sheldon does not offer Amy the emotional support that she provides for him. This flawed relationship has run its course, and it is time that Amy took control of her life.
