2. Emily
By a complete coincidence, Raj has dated two women called Emily. Many viewers believe Emily Sweeney was the best of all of Raj's partners. However, the other Emily was among the worst.
Because of Raj's selective mutism around women, his friends worried he would never have a girlfriend. As Raj became increasingly lonely, Penny and Bernadette set him up on a date with a deaf woman called Emily. Because of her condition, Raj was able to speak to her no problem.
Even though it looked like Raj finally had a shot of being happy, his friends were concerned Emily was only with him for his money. After he paid off Emily's credit cards, leased her a car, and bought her diamond earrings, Penny and Howard confronted her, asking if she was a gold-digger. Emily felt so insulted, she stormed off.
But when Raj's parents cut off his allowance, Emily dumped him, confirming she was exploiting him. Devastated to be alone once more, Raj spiralled into a depression. Even though Raj has a habit of screwing up relationships, this is one of the few times where he did nothing wrong, save for the fact he didn't see how devious his partner was sooner.
