11. Will Homelander Track Down Maeve?
Homelander’s god complex has given him complicated relationships with a lot of his fellow superheroes, one of the most confusing of which was with Queen Maeve. They were once romantic, but over the course of the series their dynamic shifted greatly.
He threatened her friends, he verbally and physically abused her, and he kept her prisoner with the intent of harvesting her eggs before killing her. It’s no mystery as to why Maeve was willing to risk innocent lives to put an end to him.
Ultimately, at the end of season three she got what she wanted. Without powers thanks to Soldier Boy’s blast, and presumed dead, Maeve was able to go into hiding with Elena away from the public eye. She may have been missing an eye, but it was the happiest she had been in a long time.
However, in a similar way to Soldier Boy, the series would be weaker for omitting Maeve in season four. Homelander may think she is gone, but he certainly has the ability and the resources to find her again. Even if this is just the door to bring her back into the show to a fresher story, it feels like this needs to happen.
