9. Herogasm
Where do you possibly start with an episode like Herogasm? This was something fans of the comics had waited for ever since the series began, and as you might expect from a giant superhero orgy, the entire thing was like one giant WTF moment.
In fairness, the show could have feasibly gone even further, as the episode was nothing compared to the debauchery the event brought to the pages of the source material, but it was still one of the most shocking episodes of the series so far which is truly saying something.
Hosted by the TNT Twins of Payback fame, there wasn't a camera angle without an inordinate amount of skin and other extremities showing, Vas returned with his love sausage, and Annie had to suffer through potentially her most cringeworthy scene ever on the doorstep.
Arguably, the event itself was relatively inconsequential. It’s where the payoff of the episode happened, with Soldier Boy killing off 12 supes, but this could have realistically been done with anything. It didn’t have to be at Herogasm. It was almost completely unnecessary, and that arguably made it even more shocking.
