The Boys has never been scared of taking its shots, whether it is poking fun at the likes of the MCU and DCEU, or tackling bigger issues like racism and sexism. One more specific thing that found itself within the show’s crosshairs in season three was Gal Gadot and her viral Imagine video.
Towards the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, Gal Gadot, along with a smattering of celebrity friends, remotely came together to each sing a line of John Lennon’s Imagine, as something of a message of solidarity in times of hardship and uncertainty.
The video, which many saw as simply these celebrities videoing themselves singing from their mansions while the world around them crumbled, was widely criticised, and now has been laughed at once again by The Boys.
With The Deep playing the role of Gadot in the wake of Soldier Boy’s attacks, once again celebrities, this time joined by superheroes, sang John Lennon’s classic song. The likes of Josh Gad, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, and Patton Oswalt all joined in, and it was hilarious.
