For the shortest time, Annie January wasn’t the only good superhero in the Seven. From the start, with “heroes” like Homelander, A-Train, the Deep, and Stormfront among the roster, there was only Starlight fighting the good fight.

This changed in season three, when Annie’s childhood sweetheart from Capes for Christ joined the team. Supersonic was selected through American Hero, and was immediately recruited by Annie to her and Hughie’s fight against Homelander.

His problem? He trusted too easily, and the man he chose to put his trust in was A-Train. After seeing the former fastest man on Earth get humiliated by Homelander, Supersonic offered him the opportunity to join the fight against his boss.

That very night, Supersonic was dead. With this being Homelander, the death was unbelievably brutal, matched only by how indifferent he was when revealing what he had done to Annie. At this moment, it truly did seem that Homelander could do whatever the f*ck he wanted, and he was happy to boast that. He was genuinely untouchable, and had no problem flexing that to Starlight using the murder of one of her best friends.
