The Boys: 18 Biggest WTF Moments From Season 3

12. Hughie The Supe

For the first two seasons of The Boys, the only member who actually had any powers was Kimiko. In season three however, the show started to mimic the source material a little closer by having even more of the team become temporary supes.

Butcher was the first to take the Temporary V, but he certainly wasn’t the only one. After years of feeling weak, in particular since the death of Robin and getting involved with Butcher and the Seven in the first place, Hughie got hooked. He injected himself under the pretense of wanting to help fight the supes, and though he did just that while teleporting and losing his clothes, this was never the reason.

He wanted power. After taking it for the first time he held his head out of the window, with a fixed arm, and a smile on his face. He enjoyed it. Hughie continued to use the drug throughout the series and continued to let down everyone around him.

They all thought he was better than this, and he told Annie he didn’t care about her being so much stronger than he was. Clearly, he did.
