The Boys: Ranking All The Main Characters Worst To Best
4. Billy Butcher
When a character is being played by Karl Urban, chances are he's going to be a standout. Billy Butcher is not only the leader of The Boys, he's also one of the show's most complex and deeply troubled characters. Having lost his wife to Homelander years previously and spent every waking day since plotting his revenge, his is an arc of tragedy and loss.
Confrontational, secretive, manipulative and prejudice toward all supes, his swear-happy attitude, violent problem solving and conflicted emotions often make him the most unpredictable guy on the show. Between his lust for revenge and his desire to do right by all those hurt by the Seven, he's as heroic as he is dangerous.
Butcher has been through an awful lot on the show so far, being reunited with his lost wife, nearly giving his life to kill Homelander and pushing all his friends away, and though there are moments when his stubbornness can grate slightly, he's undeniably a revelation who still has a lot left to show.
