The Boys: Ranking All The Main Characters Worst To Best
10. Mother's Milk
Mother's Milk (or Marvin), despite the ridiculous nickname, is a great character, and is probably the real moral centre of The Boys. Whilst Hughie is conflicted and indecisive, Butcher is confrontational and loud, and Frenchie is dependable and imaginative, Marvin is always there, calming them down, keeping everyone focussed, and sorting things out.
Still, in a lot of ways, he can be a bit bullheaded, a blunt Butcher-lite who doesn't mind saying what's on his mind. His desire to take down the supes but also find a way back to his family also makes for some interesting conflict, and this desire, mixed with his need to be the voice of reason amongst his more high-strung allies, has seen some of the show's best character interactions.
Unfortunately, outside of all his strengths, Mother's Milk is always a background player, there to add some muscle and wisdom but rarely doing anything to massively effect the main drive of the plot. He's the definition of a supporting character, and though he's had some great moments, he's definitely the weakest member of the titular team.
