The Boys Season 2: 10 Biggest WTF Moments

And you thought season one was intense!

When The Boys was first released in 2019, the Amazon Prime show was an instant hit. Though the adaptation of Garth Ennis' comic book of the same name may not have gone quite as dark as its source material, it was still shocking to watch, particularly for a superhero property.

Over the course of the first eight episodes, we saw things we simply cannot unsee. Translucent's explosive death, Mesmer's beating on a public toilet sink, and Madelyn Stillwell having her face melted were some of the most shocking and unexpected moments the show had to offer.

The second season however, has made the first look rather tame by comparison. The titular group were more desperate than ever, and there were new supes with unprecedented powers on the scene, with seemingly no line that the writers and showrunners weren't willing to cross.

Even before it was released, we had been promised that the second outing of the show would be even more gruesome and twisted than the first. That promise was met, and then some, with some moments so horrifying that they made season one look like a kid's show.

10. Homelander's Favourite Drink

Before her gruesome death in the finale of season one, Madelyn Stillwell had a special relationship with Homelander. She was one of the only people on Earth he truly respected, and as his boss, he generally followed the rules she laid down.

There was also another level to their relationship, in which the superhero seemed to look at her as something of a mother figure. He was jealous of the attention she gave her actual child, but at times this relationship bordered on the sexual.

This was taken even further in season two, as Homelander kept samples of his former boss' breast milk, something that he appeared to get a strange, sexual kick out of drinking. He was almost caught out by Ashley the first time we see him drinking it, which surely would have been catastrophic for his new boss.

It wouldn't have even been so bad if he just drank the milk, but it was the way in which he did it, almost lapping it up from the container in the same way a cat would. This was one of the creepiest scenes in the show, and made us consider if the wrong character had been nicknamed Mother's Milk.
