The Boys Season 2: 10 Shocking Comic Moments That Must Happen
1. Butcher's Breakdown
All murders and weird, graphic sex scenes aside, The Boys is at its heart a show about Billy 'The Butcher' - a man who had all he loved taken from him, and sought revenge by trying to take down some of the universe's toughest individuals. As such, it's pretty crucial that Billy's personal character arc includes the most important moment of it; namely, that after all the superheroes Billy wanted dead are killed, that he loses his mind and decides to also kill off all his teammates, too.
It's brutal, it's needlessly vicious, and it shows Billy's biggest problems in high definition - in that we realise he was killing superheroes to try and do something that gave his life purpose again, and so will never stop the killing or the fighting, even when all of his targets are down.
Though there's undeniably room for Billy to have a happier ending in the show, it's also crucial to show that even the stoic badass killing the heroes has his flaws - and some pretty huge flaws at that.
