The Boys Season 3: 10 Reasons To Be Excited
3. Where Does The Deep Go From Here?
If there was ever a character in the series most deserving (and most definitely, undeserving) of audience' sympathy, it's The Deep. The knockoff Aquaman's journey throughout the show so far has been one of mismatched celebrity status and his attempt to prove his relevance.
His assault on Starlight in the very first episode snowballed into a scandal that got him kicked out The Seven, and in the second season we got to see a pseudo-redemptive arc as he tried to make amends (albeit with a cult).
The Deep is absolutely the kind of person who would become embroiled in Scientology For Superheroes, and his entire arc throughout the second season took an unexpected turn as his involvement in the main stories become pretty much non-existent.
His last scene in this season is probably the most open-ended of the main characters - with him leaving the Church Of The Collective and no way back into The Seven any time soon, what the future holds for The Deep might be one of the most exciting things.
No doubt, the third season will see The Deep trying new methods to get back in The Seven, but if it's anything like what we've just seen, he won't be a Vought employee any time soon.
