The Boys Season 3: 10 Reasons To Be Excited
2. Homelander's Descent Into Madness
Homelander is a terrifying concept. He's not just "what if Superman was evil?". He's "what if Superman were a narcissistic, jealous, unpredictable, sadistic psychopath?". Ever since the first episode, the series' main baddie has been both a source of light comedic moments and genuine tension.
Season 2 did give us glimpses of a more "human" side to Homelander, as he attempted to bond with his estranged son in some moments that could have given audiences hope. Then again, he is still a murdering tyrant - and his last scene in the second season solidifies for comic fans that this character has gone "Full Homelander".
His alone time on the Chrysler Building was funny, but the connotation and the words he uses might usher in the third season, a Homelander who slowly doesn't yearn for the approval of his audience. A man with the powers of a god, who wants to be loved and adored will stop at nothing, and Homelander is no exception.
With The Seven pretty much against him, his beloved Stormfront turned into a burned chicken nugget, and his own son siding with Billy Butcher - Homelander is just a pressure gauge ready to rupture, and when he does it'll be hell for anyone who gets in his way.
