The Boys Season 3: 10 Shocking Comic Book Moments That Must Happen

7. The Muller Family Takes Flight

As the nightmarish reincarnation of Captain America meets Superman, Homelander is cherished by the public due to his image as the quintessential American hero.

Although far from being a religious man, Vought takes the opportunity to paint him as such so he can attend events like the Believe Expo and reinforce the idea that supes were chosen by God to save the world. And while we might have already seen the events of the Believe Expo back in season one, Kripke passed up on an incredible scene due to both time and budgetary concerns.

In the source material we see the Muller family winning the Believe Expo's grand prize of a car and dinner with Homelander. After being congratulated and asked to take a seat in the vehicle, Homelander decides to give them the surprise of their lives by flying them all across the sky.

With time this excitement of theirs quickly turns to horror though as Homelander starts to rant about how much he hates pretending that their religion isn't a sham. Ignoring their shrieks of terror and pleas to be returned to the surface, Homelander flies on. And with the final remark that the only man in the sky is him, he drops the family to their death. I guess they never got that dinner they were promised.
