The Boys Season 3: 10 Things You Need To Know
1. When Season 3 Starts Shooting
Given everything that's happening in the world right now, there's obviously a lot of uncertainty surrounding when season three of The Boys will actually arrive on Amazon. Production on the second batch of episodes took place between June and November last year, but didn't hit the streaming service until this past September.
Asked what the current plan is during a recent interview, showrunner Eric Kriple explained, "We’re actually through a lot of the writing. So I know most of the season by now. But, like early 2021? I mean, so much of it– It’s a crazy world we live in, but the goal is hopefully early ’21."
Based on that timeline, it could be a real struggle to get The Boys back on Amazon by next September. There's a lot of visual effects work to be done in a series like this, and restrictions on shooting remain in place in a lot of areas in the U.S.
However, there's no way Amazon will want The Boys to be off the "air" until well into 2022, so don't be surprised if it's back early that year at the latest.
