25. Mr Rigoletto & Kingpin's Origin - Daredevil S1

Back in the first season of Daredevil, the Mr. Rigoletto referred to by Kingpin's right-hand man Wesley refers to his boss' predecessor in the comic - himself named after the opera, whose tragic storyline hints at how Kingpin rose to power.

On the comic page, Kingpin started out as Rigoletto's bodyguard before betraying and murdering him. The perceived greyness of his moral spectrum was often explored as a mirror for Daredevil's, which is clearly a big them in the show and explains why that particular version of Kingpin's origin was used.
