The Defenders Trailer Breakdown: 25 Things You Need To See
23. Jessica Lawyers Up
At that moment, Matt Murdock arrives and tells Jessica to stop talking. Both Jessica and Misty are utterly confused at his rather...eccentric presence, and Jessica asks, "Who the Hell are you?"
Murdock identifies himself as her lawyer, which doesn't do a whole lot to abate J.J.'s bemusement. Is Murdock simply representing Jessica through happen-stance, or did her case pique his interest for another reason? The latter certainly seems more likely.
22. Luke Cage
Next up is the introduction of Luke Cage, seen riding a bus through Harlem, accompanied by that characteristically bright, orange hue that couldn't look more different from the blue-tinged noir aesthetic of Jessica Jones.
As Cage rides the bus, he stares wistfully at Pop's Barber Shop, which is understandably shuttered and symbolises the tragic event that initially inspired Cage to become a superhero in the first place: Pop's death.
Who ever thought a closed barber shop on a hot summer's day could have such haunting connotations?
