The Flash: 10 Characters Who Should Join Season 3

3. Max Mercury

The Flash Black Racer
DC Comics

Various reports claim that Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen will be getting a new addition to his inner-circle in The Flash’s third season. Those reports claim that this newcomer will be similar in mindset to Barry but will be Allen’s elder and will, as ever with new characters, have his own secrets.

Who better to utilize in this role than Max Mercury, the oldest member of the Flash family and someone often depicted as the very first speedster.

Barry may not have had much luck so far when it comes to mentors – the first season saw Harrison Wells revealed to be Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash, the second season saw Jay Garrick revealed to be Hunter Zolomon/Zoom – so maybe it’s time that the Scarlet Speedster was taken under his wing by somebody not intent on tormenting him.

Max would make a great addition to The Flash, although it depends on whether the show wants to continue with making multiple speedsters a regular and heavy part of the series. Either way, with a mentor gig up for grabs in the new season, The CW could do far worse than look at Max Mercury as the man to step into that role.
