The Flash: 10 Major Predictions For Season 3

The big new addition to the cast this year is a rather exciting one: Tom Felton, best known for playing Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, is joining as a series regular.

He'll be playing Julian Dorn (or Julian Albert, as a number of outlets have confusingly referred to him as recently), a character who is a direct result of Flashpoint, and works as a CSI alongside Barry. The two will have a rather antagonistic relationship, with Dorn suspecting Barry of hiding something while keeping secrets of his own.

So could one of those secrets be that he's really the season's Big Bad (or one of them, anyway)? The big fan theory going around at the minute is that Dorn is Dr. Alchemy. The former is a mysterious newcomer, and while being a result of Flashpoint, will somehow be sticking around afterwards (or that's what is expected, anyway). The latter is a masked character without a physical actor being named. In the comics, after Dr Alchemy (who was Albert Desmond) comes Curtis Engstrom, a gifted biochemist who works with STAR Labs on examining the Philosopher's Stone, before becoming a villain himself similar to Alchemy (he calls himself The Alchemist). Julian Dorn could be filling that role here.

Yes, it is a little bit Jay Garrick/Zoom-esque, but there's a way to do it that feels different and more natural than that did. Plus, Alchemy uses the Philosopher's Stone, Felton was in the Philosopher's Stone... it all fits!
