When The Flash devoted multiple episodes last year to exploring the return of Ronnie Raymond and his transformation into Firestorm, it was tolerable. They werent its best episodes, but they werent outright terrible. This year The Flash tried to repeat itself, but with far worse results. Unlike in last season, when The Flash needed to take a breather from Reverse-Flashs menace, these episodes occurred early on, standing in the way of developing a more meaningful long-term conflict. It felt like it was just Stein fainting over and over again, distracting from the larger menace at hand in Zoom. These episodes failed because they didn't really impact any of the main characters in a meaningful way and just felt like a re-tread of an already mediocre arc from last season. Like Hawkgirls inclusion, the introduction of Jefferson Jackson just felt like set-up for Legends Of Tomorrow as opposed to a story that really needed to be told on The Flash. With that spinoff about to begin airing in earnest, the back half of The Flash can hopefully put aside these secondary plotlines for the sake of its own main story. What do you think Season 2 has gotten wrong so far? Or are you a fan of everything The Flash has done lately? Let us know in the comments.
