The Flash: 10 Things Season 2 Has Got Horribly Wrong (So Far)

7. Henry Allen€™s Exit

Considering that Barry spent nearly all of Season 1 desperately trying to free his father from jail, Henry Allen sure did get out of town quick. He gave some forced explanation for why he couldn€™t get in Barry's way but the whole thing just felt like lazy writing. The more likely reason behind his sudden departure is that the writers had no clue what to do with him for an entire season if he was hanging out with Team Flash. The problem is that there€™s no reason he couldn€™t just stick around in Central City and not be seen. Surely audiences would understand when Barry€™s dad didn€™t appear every episode. Even a few cursory mentions of Barry seeing him would be enough to convince people that he was still actively involved in Barry€™s world. The worst part of this is that it retroactively hurts Season 1. In hindsight, it€™s hard to care too much about Barry recusing his dad when it€™s now clear how little impact it will actually have on his life.
