The Flash: 10 Things Season 2 Has Got Horribly Wrong (So Far)

4. Forgettable Villains

Hands up if you could even remember that The Flash faced Sand Demon at the beginning of the season? How about the Atom-Smasher? It€™s natural that when a show has 23 episodes in a season, it€™s going to need some filler villains to keep the plot moving. It€™s been a trope of genre for years, but that doesn€™t meant that audiences have to be happy about it. A perfect example of this would be Henry Hewitt, the failed candidate to bond with Martin Stein. Visually, he was nothing special, he offered nothing new to the show, and his characterization was so minimal that he came off more like a plot point than an actual character. Unfortunately, these same flaws have plagued nearly every new Flash villain that€™s been introduced this season, save for Zoom. The Flash has shown what it can do when it comes to developing returning villains. After all, Captain Cold has become one of the best characters on the show. But there needs to be a workable beginning for that to happen and so far, that can€™t be said about any of the forgettable antagonists this season.
