The Flash: 8 Best Villains
5. The Thinker
We haven't known Clifford "The Thinker" DeVoe for very long, but he's already left quite an impression on Barry Allen's life. What his endgame will ultimately end up being is anyone's guess, but his ability to outsmart Team Flash at every turn has already proven quite fruitful, with Barry's seeming paranoia having nearly alienated him from his own team and actions to out DeVoe as The Thinker forcing Singh to suspend him from work.
And just as he seemed to have been defeated in a battle with The Flash over the city and life seemed to be settling back to normal for Barry and the team, The Thinker made his biggest move yet: After transferring his consciousness into a new body, he left his original corpse in Barry and Iris' home for Barry to find mere moments before the cops arrived on the scene, taking Barry into custody for suspected murder in an event that will have profound consequences going into the second half of the season.
Unlike the big bads of past seasons, The Thinker isn't a speedster, and that's what has made his arrival so refreshing. He's brains over brawn, and teases about his future - like the fact that Eobard Thawne himself is a self-proclaimed fan of his work - makes it hard not to be excited to see what else his conflict with The Flash has in store before the season is up.
