The Flash Season 2: 10 Big Questions We're Asking After The Fury Of Firestorm

The show jumps the shark(-man) this week.

When Ronnie Raymond and Professor Martin Stein went into the singularity together, only one of them came out alive. For the last few months Stein has been living as the lone half of Firestorm, and the withdrawal symptoms have begun to manifest in an increasingly dangerous way over the past few weeks, with the Professor collapsing twice and in a rather unstable condition. As the title - The Fury Of Firestorm - suggests, this week's episode largely takes a break from the bigger plot and focuses very much on finding a replacement for Ronnie, because Legends of Tomorrow is just a few months away and Firestorm is going to be a big part of that. It's a solid episode, and a season with 23 of them is going to need to diverge from the overarching story now and then, but it's also the weakest of the season so far. The Firestorm plot felt a little forced (which it kinda was, because of the aforementioned spin-off), and with big questions to answer about Zoom and Harrison Wells it was an unwelcome distraction. Elsewhere we finally found out why Francine West has decided to come back now (is it ok to really dislike a dying person?), advanced a bit further with the Barry/Patty love story, unveiled a little bit more of the Harrison Wells mystery, and saw some sort of Shark-Man. Naturally, then, we're left with a few questions.
