The Flash Season 2: 10 Big Questions We're Asking After The Fury Of Firestorm

7. Does This Episode Mean Ronnie Is Truly Gone?

As mentioned, this episode was centred very much around Firestorm and finding a replacement for Ronnie Raymond, which by the end it had done as Jefferson Jackson got his flame on (beating out Henry Hewitt, because an alliterative name is clearly one of the pre-requisites to be this half of Firestorm). This really provides a moment of closure for Caitlin, as she gives her support to Jax and tells him that he can be a hero, just like Ronnie was. Although we know the character's dead, it had been speculated that he would still find a way of coming back at some point, but that's looking increasingly unlikely now. Ronnie could still return as a doppelgänger from Earth-2 or one of the other dimensions, but the impact may not work as well now that everyone has finally managed to move on.
