The Flash: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

4. Iris West

Flash Flashpoint
The CW

The leading lady of the show and love of Barry Allen's life, Iris West has had quite the journey during her time on The Flash.

A formidable reporter at heart, she grounds the show in realism at times when it needs it and isn't afraid to tackle the hard-hitting stories in a bid to get to the truth. Moreover, her relationship with Barry has remained one of the few consistent in the Arrowverse and, with each passing season, it lives up its comic book origins more and more.

Furthermore, Iris has grown as a character, as the increasingly-ridiculous world she is living in has allowed her to learn more about her inner-strength, as she has struggled through loss and grief - only to come out that much stronger.

Though she has been a little lost at times, with the writers seeming unsure of what to do with her - making her a damsel-in-distress in one season and the leader of Team Flash in the next - it's clear that she thrives when she's that intrepid and independent reporter that she was in the beginning. Now that she has thankfully figured that out, she is once again going from strength-to-strength.
