The Flash Season 2: 10 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit

9. Multiple Characters Don't Matter

In season one of The Flash, everyone had a part to play. Barry was becoming the hero he was always meant to be, Eobard was a time traveler determined to kill the Flash, Caitlin was a genius dealing with the loss of her husband Ronnie while still remaining loyal to her boss who caused all the trouble in her life, Iris had to choose between her childhood friend or her stable relationship with Eddie, etc etc . Everyone had something to do. And most importantly, Henry Allen needed to be freed from prison for a crime he didn't commit. Fast forward to the current landscape of the Flash and you get a much different looking cast of characters. After reconnecting and then once again losing Ronnie, Caitlin has now become a side character whose soul purpose is to flirt with Jay Garrick and occasionally say something science related, Iris apparently isn't too broken up about the love of her life Eddie Thawne's death and the moment Henry Allen got out of prison he immediately dipped right out of Barry's life as he had literally no purpose to fill on the show. Everyone is dragging their feet with nothing to do or achieve for themselves outside of a few major characters.
