The Flash Season 2: 12 Big Questions After 'Escape From Earth-2'
7. Are They Even Trying With The Villains-Of-The-Week?
Well, Geomancer was, er...well, he was there, I guess. And he tried, kinda. Though not too hard. But he had clear motives of wanting to defeat the Flash for, um, reasons. Yeah, he was pretty terrible. I mean, obviously he was nothing more than a plot device for Jay using Velocity-9, and the speed cannon being broken to provide a thrilling end, but surely they can do that and still be an effective villain in their own right. Instead there wasn't even that much of a threat - only three people in that hospital?! - and, coupled with the fact we've had Tar Pit recently as well, it feels as though the whole villain-of-the-week thing is really struggling at the moment. I understand the necessity of it, and The Flash has done it well previously, but they're very much in barrel scraping territory at the minute. Also, STAR Labs, get some damn security already.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
